UC San Diego, Cal Poly, or UC Santa Cruz

Hi,

I’ve recently been accepted to UC San Diego for theater, Cal Poly for architecture, and Astronomy for Santa Cruz.
Can I get some input on these schools and programs from anybody who has experienced them or knows somebody who did?

Wow, those majors all over the map. What do you want to study?

Cal Poly SLO is very highly ranked for architecture (do a google search for undergraduate architecture rankings).

I am interested in all of the majors… Which is why the decision is so difficult!

Have you visited all the schools? Which school do you see yourself attending for the next 4 years? Since you have diverse interests, you want a school that will allow to change majors easily. Since SLO is the only school that offers Architecture as a major option and if you are leaning towards that major, then SLO might be the right choice however it does not offer an Astronomy Major but has a Theater major. Both UCSC and SDSU offers the Astronomy major/Theater major, so you will have to make a decision eventually. Are there major cost differences? Pick the school that offers the most major options, a comfortable social scene and is affordable. All good choices…

I heard that it is difficult to change majors at SLO. You might want to verify that if it makes a difference in your decision.
