In your case, looking at computer science, it isn’t about the overall school rankings. You should probably start a thread in College Search & Selection. I’m sure others will be able help you compare the schools.
When will merit awards come out? Did any admitted students get notice of merit with the acceptance?
You got into Irvine, right? UCI has a business school. UCSD does not.
Outstanding education at all of them. I helped a first generation college kid apply to UCR and UCSC and he only got into UCR. He was crushed at first not to get into Santa Cruz, but it turns out that UCR (and UCM) have extra supports and opportunities for students like him, and he LOVES it. He’s gradutating this year and has already been accepted to a masters program at UCR in data science and will return! They all have the same standards, for the most part. Every one of them will give you a great education. Now, do all kids want to live in Merced or Riverside? Obviously not. But absent those issues, you will get a great education and graduate with a UC diploma which means something.
Half the kids from my kids’ HS end up at UCSC and have a wonderful experience.
I thought UCSD does have a Business School: Rady School of Management : MBA
I did. I applied for business economics here
I absolutely second this recommendation. The GEs are the main thing to pay attention to. Housing is good/fine at all!
Accepted as Math/Computer Science major, how hard is it to transfer from Math/CS to just CS?
You may want to call the Engineering Department and ask.
UCSD ranked much higher globally if that means something. #62 Vs #268 in QS ranking.
Waitlist admits will vary from year to year so it will depend upon how many enroll and how many spots are available.
I have been waitlisted here, a little surprised abt it tho. I got in business adm at Irvine which apparently had an acceptance rate of 11.7% in fall 23 and 8.8% in fall 22
Somewhere between “extremely difficult” and “not possible,” depending on whether they open up any spots at all for students wanting to apply to transfer. https://cse.ucsd.edu/undergraduate/cse-selective-major-process
Not easy see @tamagotchi link for the process.
Different UC’s look for different things in the applicants. UCI is a great option.

UCSD does not breakout admit rates by major, sorry. Overall campus admit rate for 2023 was 24.7% so a competitive school.
For Aerospace you are way better off going to Purdue! they are in top 8 undergrad and top 4 grad rank for that! great job and good luck!
