I am happy to have gotten into UCSC since I’m from that area and financial aid is covering my first year tuition and housing! UCSD is my first choice though considering I’ve been living here in SD for the last 5 years and I love it. Does anyone feel that since I am transferring from a Junior College in SD county it could better my odds at acceptance to UCSD? Also this major is not impacted at UCSD.
I’m as nervous as everyone else but just being able to apply to one of these schools is an accomplishment in itself and you all should be extremely proud!

Personal Statements: Thought they were good, showed my scholarship winnings, and involvement at CCC.
Hey guys, figured I’d post my stuff in hopes of seeing where I stand. I’ve worked hard but also work 30hrs a week which at times hurt my GPA. The main thing I’m afraid of is missing a physics class, I took it last semester and received a D due to personal issues and couldn’t get the class a second time (I know it sucks, I tried to explain it in my personal statement without making an excuse out of it). I hope the best for everyone!

i like that SB gave us a date and time to mentally prepare for. I hate waiting games!!
based on past information UCSD is usually the last UC right? We’ll probably hear by friday for UCLA and the next week for UCSD

Yes UCSD seems to be RIGHT after UCLA. Based on this information…it could either be UCLA today and UCSD tomorrow OR UCLA tomorrow and UCSD some time next week.

Do UCs try to never release on the same day? It seems to be the consensus that UCLA will come out on Friday. I don’t want to wait a week for UCSD…
@jaescott prior years (16 and 17) UCLA and UCSD have released on same day. Who knows
I believe acceptances at least should be out latest 27-28. The last 2 days seem too late! also, UCs don’t communicate what day they are releasing (i heard). I think its just pure coincidence

@fitcoderdude The only official word from any UC before decisions was that they would be out before April 30th. Each school has their own admissions standards and they do not release based on other UC’s. It’s definitely possible that they are both released tomorrow but they only have 6 more business days until April 30th. I can say with a large certainty that @SmartNPretty has a 1/6 chance of being correct.
With that being said a UC Admission expert did say it would be out within the next 6 business days.
@SmartNPretty I would also like to know which expert said this haha. Hard to believe but I’ll admit I was excited there for a second.
It seems pretty unlikely that UCSD would release decisions on Monday or Tuesday based on the past. Also, I don’t think they would wait until the 30th (next Thursday). I think our best bet is either today, tomorrow, or next Wednesday for UCSD. And, UCLA will likely be today or tomorrow as it generally has come out before or concurrently with UCSD. It’s all a guessing game though.
Ms. Sun says they both come out tomorrow and her predictions are pretty accurate
