y’all i’m here from the UCI thread. i actually think i posted here way back in the early process before UCI… SD has always been my number one (maybe?) i visited the campus and fell in love
yesterday i got accepted into UCI for biological sciences, which had me in awe. today is my birthday and i want UCSD to come out but also don’t want to get rejected on my birthday LOL. i haven’t heard of other people getting into UCI (that i know) that weren’t waitlisted or didn’t get a tag acceptance. do we think covid affected admissions or those were decided awhile ago?
i live close by to UCI and campus is pretty. but I’ve never seen anything like UCSD. also
for those who are curious
intended major: biochem BS
local CC. non honors, two year transfer,
3.8 GPA before fall
3.5 GPA after fall (calc II kicked my soul!)
-currently finishing IGETC
-currently finishing Ochem II, physisc II (electro stuff), and a second sequence to bio !
major: political science
gpa: 3.96
IGETC: completed fall 2019
major prep: completed winter 2020
schools I applied to: UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, and UCSB
so far I have gotten into Berkeley, but I am still waiting on my other decisions!! hopefully SD comes out soon ahhhh
good luck everyone!! I hope you all get into the schools you want to attend
@MrsWolfBlood Hey, I’m also from a local CC but applying for human bio. quick question I’m curious did you take the engineer series of calc and physics or did you take the physics and calc for science majors. UCSD accepts both but I’m just curious
hey. lol well im not sure what the difference there is but if you mean the calc based vs non calc based im currently in the second course of the calc based physics
Hey guys! If I got accepted into UC Davis do you think there’s a good chance UCSD will accept me too? Idk if anyone knows this answer but I’m a sociology major:) thank you!
I don’t think there are correlations between UCD and UCSD tho. It is like if you get accepted by UC Berkeley, it does not mean that you will 100% get accepted by UCLA. Apart from that, I personally think UCSD is a better school over UCD…
@ucsun24 results are often random and unpredictable. I was accepted to UCD and UCB, much prefer UCD, but still feel like it isn’t an indicator of success with UCSD. Good luck! Link below might be helpful.
Yeah that makes sense! I meant is uc San Diego and uc Davis similar with their acceptance rate/ gpa’s that they accept ? Or is uc San Diego overall harder to get into? I’m hoping to get into uc San Diego just eagerly waiting to hear back
I personally think UCSD is overall a better school, and therefore, it might be “harder” to get into. According to College Transitions, the transfer admission rate is 49.5% at UCSD, and it is 55.4% at Davis.
So I applied to UCSD with a major in Econ and it asks for Calc 1-3 and I am currently taking Calc 2. Assuming Econ is not a very impacted major (54% acceptance rate last year), will UCSD still reject me because I have not finished Calc 3 yet?
