UC Santa Barbara Class of 2028 Official Thread

“Not enough data” for anything but UCD and UCB isn’t too encouraging.

A really interesting analysis, though. Look at the shape of the data on UCSD, for example.

What is D24? Sounds like a hex code.

D = daughter
S= son
24 = year of HS grad.

What gets confusing is when people add another D for Dear; so you will see DD24 or DS24.

Why do people add “Dear”?

Just a weird (IMO) forum convention. Seems to be popular on parenting forums.

D24 was literally the reverse - Accepted UCI, waitlisted UCLA and UCSD. :woman_shrugging:t3:

It’s an artifact from back in the day on the internet. Personally, I like the irony when dealing with teens who can be anything but dear.

Yes. It is not easy for us mare human to fathom. They have their own reasons to select someone and reject others.
Are you southern CA resident?

I thought this was an interesting chart from the above article. Those of you with the high GPA students who didn’t get into some of the other UC’s, maybe UCSB is your time to shine. Their avg GPA admit is above even UCLA.

Good afternoon from UCSB

Wishing everyone the best of luck!

You will end up where you’re supposed to, even if that doesn’t seem like it now. Trust.
