No, the UC’s do not check Senior Mid-year transcripts for regular admission purposes. Senior year courses listed on the UC application are reviewed for rigor and final completion of the a-g course requirements. Final transcripts are only submitted upon enrolling.
Transcripts for Fall senior year (along with letters of rec) can be submitted if you are appealing a denial.

@FluteSection
Just to clarify: UCSB’s decision appeals process does not accept LOR’s but you can submit a transcript.
My son did not
Thank you.
Oh, good to know. I assumed they did because some of the other UC’s allow you to submit LORs when appealing decisions.
My son got an invite and Regents and we are from OC. We will probably go over my son’s objections as he doesn’t like to go to anything - not because he’s not interested in UCSB.
My son did get the physical invitation in the mail yesterday (March 4th), about a week after the Regents email (Feb. 27th). We are in Orange County. Also, in between those two dates, he got an email saying admission is pending… Kind of a mess but still very happy
Just got an email that UCSB will be releasing decisions on Tuesday, March 19 after 3 PM PST. Good luck to everyone and Go Gauchos!!!
Thank you for the update.
got same email
Wow, much earlier than before. In 2022 UCSB released the last week of March, right before Berkeley, they’re usually one of the last UCs to do so.
But I’m a current 2nd year Computer Engineering student at UCSB, I check this thread every year around admissions release LOL.
If people think it’s helpful, I can answer any questions about stuff like campus life, academics, research/internship opportunities etc.
How have you found campus/social life at UCSB?
how are the research and internship opportunities for normal kids that are not regents or honors?
I am interested in research and internship opportunities in CS. Thank you in advance for sharing your insights.
My daughter is a political science sophomore at UCSB and currently has both a research assistant position and an internship. She has had many amazing opportunities–has been to Sacramento twice already for state-wide political conventions and has had face-to-face time with local politicians. She is not a regents scholar but is in the honors program. But honestly those opportunities have come more from getting involved in clubs and activities related to her major - not from the honors program itself.
Thank you, my kid loves clubs and activities so that is good. We are anxious about decisions so will see what happens March 19!
Is the career destinations (where they end up working) similar for CE and CS at UCSB?
How is life for LGBTQ students on campus?
