Don’t give up hope, you never know! I’ve heard of kids getting off UC waitlists as late as July…just be ready to pivot last minute if you get in and that’s what you want. Best of luck!

I suspect it’s all winding down. There will probably be some waitlist acceptances that will appear but not many. Most students have committed and numbers are set.
It was a rough year for a lot of kids. It’s no reflection on anyone’s value or ability. It’s merely numbers. There were lots of applicants that certainly would have seen many more acceptances in other years.
My daughter mentioned to me a classmate of hers - bright, high GPA, loads of ECs - who found himself getting rejected by every single UC. He waded through all of the denials, as well as a rejection from Cal Poly SLO. He did get an acceptance from Merced, but only because our high school offers auto-acceptance there with a 3.2 gpa or better.
Fortunately, on IVY day, he was accepted by Berkeley for bioengineering. It turned out ok for him, but it was a crazy year if an applicant like him couldn’t even get a nibble from San Diego, Santa Barbara, Davis, and Irvine, let alone Riverside.
So understand that it was a case of circumstance that made the year so frustrating for so many.
