Congrats!
Thank you very much for your insights! Really glad to hear this.
I don’t think they specify it in the email - and I am not aware how many types of receptions there are. I am pasting their email below.
As far as I have ever seen there is only one type of reception. The good type. ![]()
There should be more information when you register it.
S26 also got invite for LA reception on 3/14; we are in LA county. If you click on register, you’ll see dates by region.
I think a student from Seattle may be able to register to reception in another region though I am not 100% sure. This may explain why LA reception site is next to LAX airport.
Are you located near LA?
I saw on Reddit that people were saying they expected no invites in the Bay Area this year because there is no Bay Area reception, but of course that could be wrong!
Yes we are in LA county, not LA city though
May I know it is from College of Creative Studies or L&S?
The major is CS in Engineering college.
Congrats, usually it is for the top applicants. ![]()
It looks like so far no one from Bay Area has announced receipt of the invitation email. So, they may be keeping LA reception for SoCal only, and the location next to the airport may just be a coincidence…
LA is always at a hotel near the airport.
Is this the first year that they emailed the invite? I thought it was previously sent in the mail.
Sorry for the confusion since I did not make myself clearer about the question but I meant which location for the reception. You stated Seattle so the WA reception. Thank you.
My information only comes from random internet posts, but I think in the past it has been both email and postal mail, with some students reporting only receiving postal mail. It’s possible they try to send it redundantly so students don’t miss it.
S26 also got invite for LA reception on 3/14 for CS.
So we got 2 CS majors represented here out of a sample of 3 so far! Curious if the invites proportionately represent all majors (I would expect that), or weighted more towards high demand / more competitive majors.
College Confidential is weighted more towards high demand / more competitive majors. ![]()
I’ve looked through reddit posts as well as here and I don’t see anyone getting the invite from Orange County California. I had hear in previous years Orange County was included in the LA Event. Have you seen Orange County represented this year?
