Congratulations everyone!! I am a graduating Computer Engineering senior at UC Santa Barbara. Some of my background is here:
UCSB has been good to me, and I’d love to answer any questions if you have them!

did u get any internships?? also how often do freshmen get them… im mechanical so im looking to hopefully get some aero-oriented internship during my time @ ucsb
What is the difference between accepted students events and the open house? Would you recommend one over the other for an accepted student?
why did u choose sb over sjsu and is access to internships and jobs good? i low key want to do a masters but idk to choose between both of them and i am also coming from a bay area high school and i kind of want to get away and is computer engineering as cuthroat as berk or la or other schools
My 2 cents. Every year high school students discuss their fears of known “cutthroat” schools and majors. Berkeley making the most common appearance in these discussions.
I have never once heard an actual student at one of these schools or majors say that this is an accurate characterization. Hard workers? For sure. But the idea that students are actively undermining each other is some kind of persistent urban legend, maybe based on some one in a million anomalous events.
I am in computer engineering and this summer I am helping to design CPUs for one of the three companies: Nvidia, AMD and Intel. I got interviews for 2 of the 3 companies. I don’t want to say the exact company for privacy reasons
oooooo nice! what made u choose ucsb over other schools and how close knit is the computer eng program
