Hi All,

My son , currently in Junior year, hoping to get into UCSC , Robotics engineering because they don’t offer mechanical engineering. He’s applying for civil engineering at other UCs since mechanical engineering is harder to get in. His PIQ focused on activities based of civil/materal science, would that hurt when selecting RE at UCSC ?

EC’s do not necessarily need to be major focused. They just want to see how applicants spend their time outside of school, what motivated them to participate in the EC’s and how the EC impacted the applicant and others.

These stats are really stellar, kudos to all of these hard working kids. I’m curious how many have UCSC as their first choice? I noticed unlike Merced and riverside Santa Cruz does not accept many below a 3.7 GPA despite their high acceptance rate. I figure the overlap of Cal and Santa Cruz applicants is high.

forgot to add to this!!
