On the UC Tag application on the last page before submission there is a chart of various GPA’s, but the end (gulp) says, “overall total”, is that GPA the gpa that is used for the schools tag or is the ASSIST certified courses GPA the one the UC’s use?

ASSIST Certified is what is used when the UCs look over your application.

My ASSIST Certified GPA is a 3.60 and overall is 3.21. Law school will take into account the overall. I’ve completed 40 transferable units, gunna go for 28 more to raise it.

thanks for your reply blackmamba (kobe ftw)

well ive only taken the equiv to algebra 2 in highschool, at my CC its called math 82 : intermediate algebra. then its the pre req for stats/pre cal. but im going for poly sci then will do my med/dent (similar pre-reqs) pre reqs while im doing poly sci. so i guess minor in bio.

and Irvine req is transferrable UC math has to be done by summer 2010, they havent updated it but im sure summer 2011 would what it will be.

What if during the time you submit your application, you have less then the required GPA? Like, I currently have around a 3.4 but I will get above a 3.5 by the end of Fall 2011, which is what they state on the reqs, but they send out TAG confirmations in November…how will they know that I will have increased my GPA by the end of fall 2011…they clearly state:
Achieve a 3.5 by the end of FALL 2011 and maintain it through spring…***FFF

^ You are talking about UCSD right?
Only SD and SB allow TAG applicants to use their after-fall gpa. If, however, you want to place a bet by TAGging to SD, obviously your TAG will be rejected if you cannot meet the minimum criteria by the end of Fall. The confirmation is just like when you sign up for a website and it sends you something to confirm your membership…

In January, they will send you an email asking you to update your GPA. If you meet the criteria, then you know you are one foot in UCSD.

Yes I just applied for the UCSD TAG. But I’m not yet at a 3.5, I’m at around a 3.45 and I know I can get like a 3.6 by the end of fall so I was just really confused. haha thank you!
