I’m confused by this statement. Not all non-immigrants are international students. I hold a non-immigrant visa(L2) but i’m a CA resident and i’m not an international student(F1 visa). This got me worried when i came across this abt a week ago. Not just Berkeley, all UC’s give priority to residents.

I believe that the College of Letters and Sciences admits international students for the Spring term only. So, you apply for Fall 2009, but you do not start your education at Berkeleley until Spring 2010, if I understand correctly.

Damn…this is a really big problem as many of my friend are F1 visa and applied to L&S of UCB. None of our college counselor told us about this policy.

Since I am a permanent resident (green cardholder), is my chance of getting in UCB higher?
Also, I moved to California 3 years ago and my green card address is in California. Am I a California resident? (I pay California resident tuition in my CC which is around 15 dollars per unit.)
