UC Transferable GPA = Private University GPA?

Does anyone know how private universities calculate (any college specific would be awesome, for ex, Cornell)
our GPA?

I would say that most private universities will simply look at your overall CC GPA and perhaps look at grades in specific courses that relate to your proposed major. The concept of UC transferable GPA is only important for UC transfers from CCs (i presume mostly if not all in California) where there is an articulation agreement.
