UCB transfer question

i was admit to ucb for fall 2009, in the major bioengineering.

but right now i have a problem about the admission. when i applied, i report i will take class that equivlent to englishR1B at CCC. but now i dropped the course.

in the condition of admission, on the list of course i have to take, it doesn’t have englishR1B. so i thought it doesn’t matter. but when i told my advisor, she told me that my application would have to be reviewd by the college again, and it might affect my admission.

so does anybody have similar experience and can help me? what is the worst outcoming? and what should i do?

also, my gpa is 4.0 , so what are my chance to be revoked?

When did you tell them you were taking this class? What semester? If it isn’t on the conditions for admission, I dont see why it should affect your admissions decision. The conditions of admission are like a contract, you should print it for your reference and to keep it as proof. Good Luck!

just because it doesn’t say it on your conditions of admissions doesn’t mean they can’t revoke you for it. They can update your conditions of admissions whenever they want. You’re going to have to wait for their decision.

how come they can update the condition of admissions this late~!

here is the quote from new student FAQ

“After you have met your Conditions of Admission, and provided all of the requested official documentation, your admission is final and no longer provisional.”

UCB Admissions can revoke anytime even as close as 3 weeks prior the first day of instruction. Sit tight and hope for the best.

Only the first course of the Reading and Composition requirement can be fulfilled with an advanced placement test. Once admitted to the
College of Engineering, only courses taken at UC Berkeley with a grade of C- or higher will satisfy the Reading and Composition
requirement. R&C A must be completed before the end of the sophomore year.

this is the policy from college of engineering. they are just conflict with themselves.

Thats for freshmen admits, for transfers:“The only non-technical admission requirement for the College of Engineering is the coursework equivalent to UC Berkeley’s English R1A and R1B (reading and composition), which must be taken for a letter grade.” R1A and R1B are transfer requirements.

thank you,but it’s not true

and i got approved~yeah!
