D got accepted first 3, waitlisted dartmouth.
Seeking molecular bio/bioenginbering for future as MD/PhD researcher. Cal resident. Any advice?
See that UCSD ranked very high (over the others) in molec bio specifically, but social life there is reputably “socially dead.” Want her to have a balance. UCB dorms not on campus, ?fragmented experience? Cornell is more $$ and remote travel issues…but ?worth the Ivy status?
Thanks in advance guys.
Cal dorms not on campus? UCSD socially dead? Huh?
Visited any?
Full-pay?
All promise to be tough. Personally, I would save the money. Most full-pay families in this country do not have the opportunity to attend a school the caliber of Cal (or UCSD) at in-state rates.
If you’re a future med-school student, then UCSD or UCB is the choice. You want to start saving money now unless you have another 200k+ to spend on 4 years of med school.
What majors exactly was your D accepted to at the UC’s?
For UCSD, does she like her college?
