UCD TAG Full Time Student Requirement

UCD wants students to be full time from Spring 2013-Spring 2014, part time students need to have an explanation

I was full time Spring 2013 but dropped one course, I took 2 courses in Summer to make up for it. For Fall 2013 I am part time 11 units, and plan on 10 units for Spring 2014. Would having a part time job and 51 units completed as of Summer 2013 be a good excuse?
Should I just state that I work part time? I feel like they would only excuse full time work?

I’m not sure about UCD, but many schools only really have full-time students for the most part. So by requiring you to be full-time student at CC , they’re basically trying to see if you can handle a full-time schedule at their school. If you’ve been attending school part time, and working part-time, I would suggest that you think about how you can explain what you’ve done with your “extra time”. Ideally whatever you come up with should be something that will not be a continued issue when you start UCD, so that they can see that you will easily be able to be a full-time student.

If you are already taking an almost full time load with your job, then they’ll be lenient. If you had 4-6 units with your job, then that’s another story. If you are taking this job because your family needs the money, then they’ll almost always excuse it.
