Rate my chances of getting in please :).
UW: 3.83
Weighted: 4.75
UCF Recalculated: 4.84
SAT: 1550 (low, I know)
EC: 7+ clubs, including college honor societies, 120+ volunteer hours (I did not post my hours on the application just the organizations and none of the leadership positions I held in the club).
All honors and dual enrollment classes, over 60 credit hours by graduation time
Can someone please rate my chances for getting into UCF summer term? I’ve seen reports of statistics much better than mine being denied and it’s begun to worry me. I also had an okay freshmen/sophomore year which really put me behind where I should currently be.
Term applying for: Summer 2016
In state or out of state?: In state
GPA W: 4.3
GPA UW: 3.5
SAT: 1500 overall
ACT: 23–Retaking both tests, because they’re terrible scores, clearly.
Strength of classes: 11 AP, rest of the classes honors.
Community Service: 580 hours
EC: Psychology club, premed, homeless assistance, volleyball.
Will be submitting an essay and letters of recommendations

Haven’t visited yet, but will be going down for our tour in November. Good luck all!
D2 hasn’t received a decision yet but I just got a “Being a UCF Parent” postcard in the mail so hopefully that’s a good sign LOL
My son hasn’t heard yet either and he’s getting a little nervous - he expected to hear sooner and seems convinced no news is bad news. Fingers crossed!
Unfortunately I haven’t received a decision yet, so this is probably of no help for you, but I applied with a 3.7 weighted GPA, which recalculated, is a 3.2 weighted GPA for UCF. I don’t know my unweighted, but I could only assume it’s around 2.9.
Does anyone know whether they had another round of admission decisions today (10/15)? My D2 got a call from them late this afternoon but was disconnected before finding out what it was about. Do they call to convey an acceptance? She is OOS.
We are still waiting for a decision as well. We did receive a call several weeks ago but it was a volunteer student offering to answer any questions we had about the campus.
Thank you @mrslac1. I never heard back from D2 (she’s out of town on some other college visits, as it turns out) so am assuming that it was more along the lines of what you were saying. I just checked her status and they are still reviewing her application (for some reason something took several weeks to change from “please send an official version” to “just received” so not sure what was going on there but really hope it didn’t hold anything up).
My sons HS transcripts were received 9/17, but the AP transcript request just recently changed to received as well. UCF advisors were just at his school this week and said the AP transcripts don’t delay decisions but did say the normal time for decisions is 6-8 weeks. They said to call after 8 weeks.
@mrslac1 thanks that makes me feel a lot better - I think your son’s and my daughter’s timing must be near one another.
Good luck to him - bet he gets in!
Wow - 6-8 weeks will definitely make my son feel better too! He was under the impression there was a 2 week turnaround. Good luck to everyone!
From what I’ve seen, some kids get a very fast admission turnaround but they might be Top 10 Knights.
I applied on October 1st and was accepted on Oct. 14th. I am not a top 10 knight but I did Aice classes and am in dual enrollment. Weighted GPA 4.3 and 27 ACT, SAT 1920. I wrote 2 essays. Good luck to everyone!
