I’m surprised to hear they have a lower sat. I think if you retake the sat and get that a lot higher (shoot for over 1300), and submit good first semester grades, you will hear back. UCF is very focused on stats.
S24 OOS from NJ accepted on 11/2 for Aerospace Engg. Applied on 10/5 but SAT score only sent on 10/27.
Just adding to the conversation with acceptance details:
Son applied on 10/28 - In state
Accepted on 11/02
SAT 1310
UWGPA 3.99 / 4.35 WGPA (not recalc for UCF)
Top 10% of class
Does anyone know when students will hear about merit money?
Looks like merit awarded around December 1 based on last years thread.
Thank you. I’m reading it and thinking that may be In-State. We are OOS.
Same…have you heard anything about merit?
Not sure if you are referring to IN STATE. For Florida Students, you are either a “Bright Futures Scholar” or not. There is no other Merit for Florida students.
That isn’t true, my S22 got $10K in addition to BF from UCF.
Edited to add it was called Pegasus or something like that
There are four level of Pegagus merit scholarships that UCF students can receive.
Congrats on Pegasus. That will pay for dorms.
Where did you see the Merit Awards for In-State?
We just got portal authorized a few mins ago, UCF is last on S24’s list so we haven’t taken any action.
Merit hasn’t been released yet for 2024. My son got it as a 2022, but went to UF instead.
Thanks.
Just curious. UCF doesn’t have the Merit amounts published online.
Any idea for an SAT 1540, GPA 4.0 UW/5.5 W Admitted on Sept 14th. Class Rank 1/424, All Math and Science AP’s and some DE’s.
He would get the highest Pegasus level I would assume. My son had a 1370 SAT and was top 10% Knight and got $10K total over 4 years, which I don’t remember if that was Pegasus Silver or something else. I will have to find his letter from 2022.
Thanks. I was just reading a bunch of “fine print” on the Top 10% Knight award “rankings aren’t equitable” blah blah blah. You get the idea.
Pegasus Gold was $14,000 ($3,500/yr). Comes with OOS waiver.
Just google to see the various Pegasus awards that they have. There is no listed or guaranteed criteria. It is up to their discretion. If your student gets one, he would probably be notified or see it in his financial aid portal.
The highest award is Pegasus Provost, so your son could get that. Unless he was a National Merit Finalist and then it’s a full ride. I ‘think’ it may be $28,000 over 4 years. Maybe more.
