Not sure, hoping we get a letter or email letting us know for sure
Received Pegasus Gold
Based on prior threads and other websites. OOS awards appear to be
Bronze/$7,500 per year
Silver/$8,500 per year
Gold/$9,500 per year
Knights Achievement/$10,500 per year (Knighrs Achievement may have been discontinued this year)
Got scholarship letter with stickers in the mail today.
Pegasus Silver - $10k over 4 years
Glad they confirmed the amount!
Has anyone who was deferred heard back from the Honors College yet. I would hate to wait until April 15th, especially since I sent in additional materials.
I didnât understand question . . . Are you deferred from the college, but you applied to Burnett? What happens on April 15?
Accepted into UCF but deferred from Burnett. They said decision comes on 15th but could come sooner if I sent in additional materials, which I did. Just wondering if anyone heard back
Does anyone know if Knights (for OOS) has been officially be discontinued? If so, do you know why?
Has anyone from out of state received Pegasus Silver or Bronze yet?
I think someone earlier in the thread received a Pegasus Gold from out of state? Someone correct me if Iâm wrong lol. If you hadnât received a scholarship, I think they do offer appeals if you think that your GPA/ test scores were high enough to qualify. Unfortunately they donât put average stats for scholarships on their website, but I definitely donât think it would hurt to look into the appeal process.
Yes, I have seen many posts on various social media of people receiving Pegasus Gold for out of state, but I have not yet seen anyone mention anywhere about receiving Silver or Bronze (for out of state), so I am holding out hope that they just have not distributed those yet. Or do they just not give out Silver and Bronze to out of state students?
I got the Pegasus gold scolarship. OOS
I got Pegasus Gold OOS as well. I have not seen anyone OOS posting that they got any other merit type (Silver, Bronze or Knights of Achievement - which might be discontinued). I believe that you can appeal for merit. Generally, it helps if you can bring some kind of academic increase (i.e. 1st semester grades that increases your GPA or higher SAT scores) to the table, as well as other merit offers from other schools. I wonder if they are waiting to see what happens with UF and FSU decisions that are coming out in the next couple weeks before they make additional merit offers. It is strange that only Gold offers have been made for OOS - whereas for in-state, all different levels have been released (bronze, silver, gold and Provost).
My son got accepted however, as a Canadian, his attending is totally dependent on finding out if he gets a tuition fee waiver (Florida-Canada Linkage). The catch is he wonât find out if he got it or not until July/August. This makes no sense since classes start in mid-late August. Essentially he needs to enroll in another option and then suddenly change plans if he gets it. It makes no sense. Anyone else had to deal with this or something similar?
It looks like merit appeals have been posted. Just have your kid check their portals (as they did not send email notifications).
Same situation here.
It makes no sense that they cannot make a decision by early May as this is a deal breaker cost wise for my son. And there is no real information on how many applications one is competing against. I donât know how they expect a student to wait until July/August when there is so much planning needed ahead of time.
Just to update. The school confirmed they wonât have decisions until earliest July. It is totally âuselessâ for anyone who depends on it. So the ones who can stick out, can afford to pay the full fare anyway OR are going to âdropâ another school at the last minute.
