UCF v. UF v. FSU Help

Hello, I’m currently a Puerto Rican university student from the UPR. I’ve decided that Florida could be a good possibility for me to move there.
But I just don’t know where to go: UF, UCF or FSU. I’m a french major so I’d like to take in consideration the best in language degrees. I’d also want to know if there are any benefits for me as veteran’s son to pay for in-state tuition rather than out-of-State. I don’t know if that’s possible. I just want your opinion on which would be more helpful. After hurricane Maria it has become quite stressful to study here.
Also is it really difficult to transfer? I’m sorry is just that PRican system can be quite different.

First, here’s the transfer requirements for UF, which is likely the most competitive.

French and Francophone Studies: Complete FRE 1130 and FRE 1131 or equivalent proficiency. (If your college does not offer French, you must contact the undergraduate coordinator in the French department at UF to determine if this is an appropriate major and to develop a graduation plan with an expected graduation date.) Must typically have a minimum 2.5 overall GPA to be competitive. Must typically have a minimum 2.5 GPA on all attempts of French courses to be competitive.

Lets look at the size of each program:

Last year, FSU awarded 84 Bachelor’s in Foreign Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics, 8 in French.

UF awarded 164 Bachelors, with 12 in French (and 63 in Linguistics).

UCF awarded 25 Bachelors with 9 in French.

All things consider, UF is the higher ranked school, with the larger language program. Apply to all 3 and see what sort of financial aid they may offer.

However, read this article:

You should check with each school and see if they are still offering in-state tuition to transfer students in 2018.

Good Luck!
