Yes, even if UChicago’s commit date hasn’t changed, a lot of other colleges have changed their date due to FAFSA delays. Even though they finished calling people off the waitlist around this time last year, they did begin earlier last year. Here is one college admissions counselor that I trust on TikTok. His account name is tineocollegeprep and he made a post on the 2nd. Fingers crossed his prediction is true!
Good luck to other students (and parents)!
I was just offered a guaranteed transfer after a year at another school. This the case for anyone else?
No, I did not get anything.
Has ANY international students gotten off the waitlist?
Just got rejected. Did the waitlist close or is it just me?
Check your portal for updates. There are letters posted for today. No email notification of update.
I just got emailed. I thought I got in and my whole family came in to open the letter with me
Just got rejected from the waitlist
Guaranteed transfer letters have been sent are out too!
Yes, same thing.
Can someone explain the guaranteed transfer option?
My son just got the guaranteed transfer offer too. I guess it’s exactly what it says. If the student goes to another 4 year university/college and keeps their grades in range, they have guaranteed transfer admission next year.
Update: I just got rejected. If you didn’t get a status update email today (like me), check your portal. Unfortunately, that means that you’ve probably been rejected (AOs usually email and make arrangements to call you if you got in). Good luck!
Is your son going to accept the transfer option?
I think so because there is no deposit. It’s non binding so he is Keeping options open. I honestly think he will end up staying where he goes this fall but ya never know!
I was given the guaranteed transfer option and accepted it. Yesterday I got an email from an AO asking to call to discuss my “plans for next year.” Is there any chance that I might get in this year or is it more likely they just want to talk about the transfer option?
Congrats! Received the same email and scheduling call. GT and BU pulled people from guaranteed transfer into the incoming freshman year so it is possible. Another possibility is first semester in one of the study abroad programs like NE does.
Just had the call and was offered a spot for this year!!!
Awesome!
awesome! Same thing happened to my son but he decided to stick with the school he committed to and keep his transfer offer on the table.
