UChicago class of 2017

anyone have any sense of the possibility of getting in off the wait list and what if anything can help?

Chances to get off the Uchicago waitlist is basically 0. They purposefully over-enroll and are expecting to have a yield that will fill over 100% of the maximum class size. Even if they don’t, they’ll accept like 10 people out of 2000. You have a better shot of getting into Harvard than getting off the UChicago waitlist. Literally.

I’ve heard sending a thoughtful letter (not an e-mail) to your regional admissions officer expressing your interest in attending UChicago and if true stating that it is still your number one choice will increase your chances ever so slightly once they turn to the wait list. Beyond that you should not contact your regional officer.
