Going to a politically unaware International school in the middle of a conservative state leaves me as the liberal minority most of the time so its refreshing seeing so many different points of views lol
Trump is a hypocrite. He hates Mexicans and wants to build a wall to keep them out and yet his suit line is made in Mexico. And he wants to bring jobs back to the US. Lol.
The one thing I’m excited to see is how he’s framed in history books. I really hope he doesn’t become president.
Sadly I will be too young to vote by the time of the election so I won’t have a say in that
@jacobpilawa fun story: we had an ugly sweater day this week so I just safety pinned a picture of Trump to my school sweater. Definitely heard comments like those throughout the day.
@bella913 I JUST LAUGHED OUT LOUD, THAT IS GOLDEN LMAO
@mollikinz one of my friends mentioned that Trump’s daughter was dating a Hillary supporter. Do you know if that’s true? lol
I used to like Ben Carson until I realized he’s almost as crazy as Donald Trump, just without all the flashy actions that Donald Trump does.
@bella913 I hope its true haha! Also funny that one of Ronald Reagan’s sons dissed him as completely unlike his father after the debate at the Reagan Library.
@bella913 I might have been shot If I wore an ugly Trump sweater but that is great! School in the south is so different haha
This is kind of off topic but a lot of times I like to imagine myself being buds with Teddy Roosevelt. He seemed like a cool and interesting guy.
I feel like Teddy would get along well with Nick Offerman.
Very off topic actually.
@Indigoraccoon4 the sweater was actually a pretty good way to determine students’ political views without directly asking lol
I don’t know if anyone’s brought up last nights republican GOP debate but if we need a new topic, here it is ahaha
@mollikinz lol that’s awesome. I’m kind of a history nerd so I’ve definitely thought of that. I didn’t really like Roosevelt’s eagerness for war though. But he was definitely still a progressive president for his time.
@mollikinz That was the best visual I have ever pictured. Nick Offerman and Teddy Roosevelt drinking whiskey by a fire.
weird side note: does anyone watch Drunk History
@bella913 That’s true. I can dig “speak softly” but the “carry a big stick” part isn’t too great.
Still cool though. You have to admit the “bull moose party” was a pretty cool name.
Speaking of Nick Offerman… If you were a Parks and Rec character, which one would you be?
I think I’d be some combination of Leslie and April. Leslie’s work, with April’s demeanor.
I feel like I would be a mix of Tom, Andy, and Ann.
That should be one of UChicago’s unconventional essay prompts for next year @whatisalie lol
I am 100% April Ludgate’s personality/demeanor with half of Leslie’s work ethic!
Im def Leslie according to my friends but I’d like to think I’m decently chill so maybe some Ann/April
My personality is probably 75% April and 25% Andy. But on a day when I’m just not having it I’ll be 100% Ron.
