@Indigoraccoon4 it’s ridiculous. There were rumors they were gonna strike in late October and all of my teachers told me they would refuse to write letters of rec while on strike. It freaked all of us out who were applying places Nov 1. After everything that’s happened this in year in Chicago, I’m starting to have doubts about staying here the next four years :(. Which is terrible because I love U Chicago and the neighborhood its in. It just has become a madhouse downtown. ( I got accepted to another school in Chi, but highly unlikely I’ll get into U of C)
@savvyitup ooo thats scary. I really want to do edu policy so it might be interesting environment to work in but not interesting in a positive way which makes me sad. Crazy about the recs though, strikes must be really intense then. I visited back in October and a 4th year was telling me about the teachers unions strikes. She got to be involved with a lot of cool things around edu too.

@hope1938 My god that is amazing! A rap supplement, just great. I am a huge fan of rap too, especially west cost, Cali rap. (I’m a big fan of Kenderick, Dr. Dre, Tupac, NWA, Snoop, etc.) I honestly hope you get into Chicago. If I was an admissions officer I would accept you without any second thoughts haha

hey guys. out of some weird sense of curiosity i’ve been reading through this thread because a year ago i was in your shoes, and i know how you are feeling about the impending decisions. i just want to put in my two cents: do not let tomorrow’s decision get you down. college admissions are an effed up system that can really personally affect people, as i and many others can attest to, but what some admissions officers think of you does not define your worth as a person. as cliche and contrived as it sounds, it really all will work out okay.

Place I would most like to see: The Great Library of Alexandria (why did they have to burn it down?)
Favorite period in American history: The Gilded Age or 1920s New York City (pre-stock market crash of course lol)

@bella913 My favorite music is jazz and classical. I much prefer non-vocal over vocal. When I do listen to vocal though, I prefer classic rock.

@whatisalie. Thomas is really cool, and the Army of the Cumberland’s charge at Chattanooga is really epic and he saved the army from obliteration at Chickamauga. An interesting book is “This Hallowed Ground” by Bruce Catton if you still haven’t read it yet.
@jacobpilawa. I’m pretty conservative (though not an extremist by any means) and a big Marco Rubio supporter. Nevertheless, I respect differing points of view and enjoy friendly discussion.

@betcalit there is no way, honestly. There is so much evidence that if R+L=/=J, it would just be bad writing. Also, when George was meeting with Benioff and Weiss, to decide whether or not to let them make a show out of his books, he asked them who his parents were. They both got it right. I dunno.
