@hope1938 Due to the impending budget cuts for CPS, the city is trying to cut all music programs. I am a member of a non profit professional choir, who currently provides music classes to over 90 Chicago Public Schools. Emanuel has always been a big supporter of our organization. I believe the arts should be as essential to a child’s curriculum as math is. That’s terrible they’re trying to cut your programs

Rock Horror is truly an experience. The movie is quite good but tbh I didn’t understand it at all when I first saw it.

@Indigoraccoon4 Yeah, the Chicago Teachers Union voted last week to go on strike (for the second time in three years) because they want better pensions but CPS is a billion dollars in the hole currently. We’re expected to miss at least two weeks of school in late January (which is during my finals conveniently) but it sucks for kids who are gonna be stuck in school until the middle of July. Lucky for me, I graduate June 15th no matter what.

@hope1938: Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh I love all of those. I also like fire squad and work out (which is a throwback). 2014 forest hills drive is just an all round amazing album

the Weeknd is amazing!! I haven’t had time to listen to his new album yet, but I saw him live at a music festival this summer and it was life changing.

@savvyitup @waddups His album is fire :x I was studying for my AP Chem midterm on the metro while I was going to see him in DC because it was the next day. I love rap…so much --in fact-- that I wrote my Chicago optional essay as a rap piece haha

@savvyitup That makes me so sad. Its weird because we don’t have unions. I can’t imagine us not having school because teachers were on strike. I get the benefits of unions but don’t teachers teach to teach?
