Love the 60s, but the time period I’d really want to see is the Reagan era. I say this as a socially liberal fiscal centrist who thinks much of his foreign policy was asinine. Even if I don’t agree with him, his presidency saw so many changes in US society that it’s a must-see.
Currently I’m digging 80s hits as well as the regular showtunes (especially Hamilton) and 40s jazz. I also like Of Montreal which is more recent.
Total Eclipse of the Heart is my jam right now and anything with Rick Astley is unironically great.

@jjkain19 What shows do you like? I listen to Hamilton and Rocky Horror a lot. I also was in Hairspray this summer so I really enjoy that soundtrack! And Pippin’s new soundtrack is wonderful too.
Going back to the political debate… I’m a Chicago native and I go to an extremely LIBERAL school. My parents are both economists, so I tend to lean slightly right, which is a hard thing to do among my peers. I also support Rahm Emanuel, our Mayor (even though there are daily riots outside of my downtown school calling for him to resign). His daughter and I used to play on the same soccer team when we were little and I had the opportunity to intern in his office for Human Rights over the summer. Though he may have many flaws, I admire his ability to tell it like it is, support funding for the arts and support large business in Chicago (which keeps our economy in Chicago going).

@savvyitup support for the arts is a huge deal in NOVA rn. Our school is one of the last ones whose music & arts programs haven’t been cut

@mollikinz I really like If/Then, I saw it three times because it was touring where I live, and I’ve seen Wicked a few times as well! I just started listening to Hamilton (I love it), and I’m seeing it over break! I’ll have to give Rocky Horror a listen; the only time I’ve heard it was on glee and that was a while ago.
