<p>Hi people i have a question.I was educated in the british school system, so shld i try to change my essays to american style english? because a lot of my essay editors tried to change some of my vocab to americanized ones. Such as learnt to learned, favourite to favorite? I am familiar with the american styled ones, its just that i’m scared if i try to change it delibrately i’ll end up with a essay thats neither here nor there?</p>
<p>I don’t think the admissions people would really mind British spelling especially if you were educated the British way.</p>
<p>As for you changing you vocab… Writing US College Essays like a UK Personal Statement esp at schools like UChi would be an egregious mistake… On the other hand I would not try to use american spellings or syntax et cetera.</p>
