i expected it, so i’m tentatively ok

It’s effectively a polite rejection. Time to go work on some more safety school applications, since my 2 top school apps were both deferred this week…

Is it a link to the letter on the portal or right there?

I posted this a few pages ago, but it still applies:

</3 Heyheyhey though we should still all be fabulous together though~ We’ll rule the world and this is only another hill to climb on the way to our destiny~

@Ewigewig - It is a link to the letter.

Deferred! Ugh. What percent of students get deferred?
Congratulations to everyone who got in!

I got in. :D

I feel like absolute **** now.

Deferred. Screw this ****.

I actually feel pretty good about myself! I read somewhere that at UChicago early action is more competitive than regular decision! We still have a chance guys, don’t lose hope!

I heard the acceptance rate for deferrals is much lower than for the regular applicants. So yeah. That’s what I hate–the deferral is basically like a soft rejection, but with enough of a spark of hope that you get strung along. I wish they would just reject or accept me and have it be done with.

Accepted!!! Omg. I was seriously not expecting to get in. Deferred/Rejected don’t take it personally, I’m sure you’ll get in somewhere great.

OMG!!! Dear Daughter is accepted !!! I can’t believe it. We were both just crying on the phone. I am the proudest papa ever!!!

Congrats to others who got in, and condolences to the rest. You are all awesome and will end up at amazing schools. Of that I am sure.

I read somewhere that the acceptance rate after deferral is about 10%, or around the regular admission rate.

Also, I felt hollow, then extremely sad, and now really hollow again.

@marshmellowish <33333

Deferred also
Congratulations to all accepted!!

The UChicago representative on this forum made a post about a year ago, which stated that the acceptance rate for deferred students is 10%, which is actually higher than the normal 8.8%.

hahaha I’m pretty certain that if one of us linked this thread to the admissions office, they’ll see how awesome we are and take us in :D. Or we could all just go to CC University!

To anybody fretting about not getting in, just remember that everybody posting here will be dead within a century and none of this matters whatsoever.
