Who else applied EA, or is planning to apply RD?

I guess we can post stats even though its pretty meaningless given the school:

HS: 3.4 WGPA
Rank: no idea but most likely really really low.
Rigor: had a pretty difficult schedule
SAT I: 2150
SAT II: 750, 710, 700

College: De Anza College
Year: first
GPA: 4.0
Rigor: Not a lot of difficult classes to take at a CC :(, so I guess pretty standard courses, but 5 per quarter if its any help.
Instructor Recs: probably very strong.
Essays: I am no judge of this.

I’m applying RD

HS: 3.78 WGPA

College: Big-ten school

HS: GPA 98.94 W, Rank 30/445, SAT 2180/1500
College: GPA 3.684 at BC Honors Program with 19 credits (physics major, basically hardest courseload)

ECs: High school there were a lot…finished 3rd in my state hs bowling tournament and led my county all star team to the state title…also won a gold medal at the empire state games…4 years on quiz bowl including long island challenge and final 16 appearances at a few tourneys…not to mention a decent amount of other stuff…college though, not too much…college bowl (hate my team, i really want to play for Chicago), republicans, investment club

Recs: both of them should be pretty good

Essays: I have no idea…i hope theyre better than last year

HS: i have no idea what my gpa was, actually. i attended a normal public school, then i was pulled out to be homeschooled, then i took some classes at a community college. i got a lot of A’s but i also got a D in a jc class! it sucks but it’s majorly dragging down my gpa in college. also i ended up exiting high school early. no idea of rank or anything.
SAT I: old: 1400. new: 2060.
SAT II: 760, but i dunno if these scores matter.

college: community college in socal. (nuveen i feel your angst!)
year: second
gpa: 3.4, but i took a LOT of honors.
ECs/hooks: skipped four grades, played classical piano for 12 years, phi theta kappa. not much though! it’s tough when you can’t drive.

recs: both were really great! i was so happy. one said i was in the top 1% and she gave me her highest recommendations. also i got a supplemental recommendation from my dad’s friend, a current professor at uchicago!

essays: pretty good maybe! the uchicago professor said she thought i belonged at the school after reading them…except there are TYPOS. arrrghhh.

interview: i know these don’t necessarily do much but mine went really well! at least, i think it did. in anycase it was fun!

man i really, really cannot wait to just find out.

HS: 3.8/4.0
Rank: 15/450
Rigor: large, urban public with some rigorous courses
SAT I: 1350

College: Emory
Year: freshman
GPA: 3.58
Rigor: Good mix of classes: math, humanities, social sciences…
Instructor Recs: I know my professors who are writing my recs averagely well.
Essays: I am probably going to discuss my favorite place, which happens to be a small river in a farming community.

extra: I am interviewing in exactly seven days, and I was wait listed last year. Hopefully things go better this time around. From reading this thread, it looks like I am in the company of some strong applicants. Good luck to all.
