UChicago Experience

Can someone please describe the ‘typical’ UChicago Experience, things unique about Chicago!

I just loved the Uncommon app and the essay topics! Absolutely Wonderful!:)

A lot of time studying/working, a lot of time partying or doing fun things if you want to.

Some people substitute the latter with doing more work or, I don’t know, playing D&D or something. You don’t see those people that often, so it’s hard to know what they do.

It’s really hard to say what your experience will be here or at any school, because it varies from person to person, depending on your personal goals, your likes, and your dislikes and how much you stretch yourself.

You’ll most likely be challenging yourself in classes and you’ll meet lots of people whom you think are awesome and a few whom you think are irritating. You will have lots of longwinded and random conversations with people whom you may never talk to again. You’ll have a chance to attend your fair share of parties, to explore the city, to go to Doc, to watch movies on USA network with your housemates. You’ll either adore this university to shreds or you’ll fall into a complex love-hate relationship with it in which you complain about everything and yet fiercely defend it when you have to.

I’ve really fallen into a low-key and laid-back nerd heaven here, in which on any given night I might be binge-watching Grey’s Anatomy, volunteering at a soup kitchen, rewriting a paper for class, or exploring a corner of the city.

I am completely sold!!! I can give anything to attend UChicago! :)
