UChicago Questions? Ask an admissions counselor!

Hey Grace! I am an international student who applied for financial aid. Is my proposal for financial aid going to lower my chance of acceptance to UChicago? Do you all usually offer it as need-blind?

@JK0919 It will affect. The university is need-aware for us internationals

@JK0919 we are need-sensitive for international students, so your application for aid is taken in to consideration with your admissions decision as an international student (with the exception of Canadian students, for whom we are need blind). We do still guarantee to meet 100% of demonstrated need for international students, we just have a more limited budget for international students with aid than for domestic students.

@UChicago‌ Thank you! So it means that actually asking for financial aid affects my admission status since it is included in my admission process. Hoping for the best! Thank you again

will students receive notification of a time that decisions will be released or will the email that their decision is ready be the first and only communication?

@zzzmmm the email notification will alert you when your decision has been released.

@UChicago Is it pointless for someone to apply to Uchicago with SAT <2000 even if one lives in a third world country ( be honest. not the generic"SAT is just a part of your application ")

I’ve heard that from 50 to 60 QuestBridge finalists have been selected for College Match this year. Is there an approximate number of QB finalists that could be selected through Early Action?

If I put down the wrong major, would that have significantly affected my decision?

Today is the day. Good luck to everyone!

@UChicago
Hi, I have been deferred and was wondering, would it be OK to submit an unsolicited short writing piece (through the UChicago account) to reassert my interest in UChicago?
Thank you.

@UChicago, Hi, I applied for Early Action and was deferred. For my optional essay, which asked for our interests, I actually listed whatever I was interested in, instead of writing an essay. I completely misread the prompt, only to realize it later on. Should I submit another version of the essay, or would that just annoy the admissions officers? Thank you!

@UChicago‌
I applied for Early Action and was deferred. Would it be possible to submit another teacher recommendation from a senior year teacher? I was also wondering if I could still submit the optional essay?

@UChicago what is the chance of a deferred applicant being admitted in RD pool? I heard that it was 10 percent, but it came from a thread 3 years ago.

@UChicago What are the possible outcomes of Early Action? Is it possible to get rejected?

@UChicago If I have an award I would like to add to my application because I was deferred, how should I do that?

@Uchicago could you tell us the early action admissions statistics? (admit/defer/reject) Thanks.

@Uchicago What are the admissions statistics for deferred students in the regular decision round?

@UChicago I got deferred from the EA, so if my counselor submits a midyear report to CommonApp, does UChicago automatically receives it? Or how shall I send it if not?

Hello. My name is Tatia, I’m from Georgia. I am in 10th grade. Two years and I’ll finish my school. I want to ask you… If I want to study in your university, will I be able to do the exams by internet, from my country???
