Same here, They were submitted on the 29th and not on my account yet. My account does say that my CSS profile was received on the 12th even though I know it was submitted on the 29th also.

Hi Grace,
My daughter went on line check her Uchicago account, it says 503 error, no application was filed on this account. We are worried. Who should we contact? She applied for EA.

Thanks

If I were to submit a website URL in the additional info section of the commonapp, would the Admissions Committee be likely to look at it?

After seeing some other parents posts regarding UChicago account not showing all the financial aid documents, I checked my son’s account and have the same problem
WE submitted the CSS profile on Oct 31 per college board records but Uchicago account shows that it was received on Nov 11. We faxed the returns on Nov 1 but UChicago account shows that you are missing that document. In fact on Nov 1, we even called the financial aid office to tell them we have faxed and asked them to confirm but they couldn’t saying it will take some time for them. Anyway, I have re-faxed it today and hope no damage done. Please give me some words of assurance to my mind at ease.

Thanks

My son’s account said the tax return was missing too. We faxed it 10/31/12. I re-faxed last night and it is now in his account.

Grace,

My daughter applied to Chicago EA. She will apply for financial, aid and I note the 11/1 EA deadline for FA materials. Is that just if you want to know your likely award in December? If she is admitted EA, would it be alright to submit the FA paper work by 2/1 (the RD deadline)? Thanks.

Hello!

On the UChicago website, international students applying for financial aid are required to “scan your completed ISFAA and supporting documents and submit them online through your UChicago Account.”
I haven’t yet submitted my CommonApp or UChicago supplement, but I need to know what those “supporting documents” are so that I can be sure that I manage to send them with 2-3 days. Can anyone provide insight into the International Financial Aid process for UChicago?

Thank you!

Yet another parent here with fax confirmation in hand for tax returns sent on Nov. 1, yet it is not in the system. I called the financial aid office; they allowed me to email a .pdf of the returns via attachment, since it is a hassle and costly for me to fax (have to go down to Kinkos, etc.). It is now showing up as received… but everyone ought to take a look at their account and make sure their returns show as received, given the number of posters here with problems.

I re-faxed my tax returns tonight but the fax machine jammed on page 39. Is it okay if I just put a new cover page on the transmission with the last 15 or so pages and sent them separately, or should I sent the entire 50 pages again? Thanks!

All-- I apologize for my absence over the past few days and know there are quite a few questions to catch up on. If you are a domestic student or parent (US citizen, permanent resident, or resident of Canada) and have any questions relating to financial aid, even forms, please email college-aid@uchicago.edu or call the aid office at 773-702-8655. If you are an international student or parent with questions about the ISFAA, please email internationaladmissions@uchicago.edu.

I hate to ask this again grace…but WHEN ARE WE GOING TO GET OUR EARLY RESULTS!!! the wait for the release of the date of the release (inception!) is driving my slightly insane… thanks…

I second that confession…

Seconded (thirded?)

Seconded …

I just posted this in a separate thread. Decisions will be released to your UChicago Account in the late afternoon on Tuesday, December 18.

Do you look at SAT writing scores at all? The school website says that the writing portions of the SAT and ACT are supplementary. Does that mean that you’ll take them into consideration if they’ll help an applicant? Thanks!

Thank you for letting us know, Grace.

Thanks! :)

Oscarlany-- SAT and ACT writing scores are not a required portion of our admissions process and are not a factor in our decision-making. Students SAT scores are evaluated on a 1600 point scale (verbal + math) and ACT is out of the original 36 without the additional writing component.

Hi UChicago, I was wondering how UChicago looks at art supplements? I have a fairly strong art supplement and I was wondering if this would be looked at considerably or is more viewed more as extra insight into our extracuricular activities?
