UChicago Rescind Policy for transfers?

Hi all, I was recently accepted to UChicago as a transfer student however I just bombed one of my midterms and it now looks like I’m going to get a C+ in one of my classes. The rest will all be either A-s or As. Is there any chance my acceptance will be rescinded? I’ve called and they’ve essentially just said they’d reach out if there were any concerns once I sent in my final transcript but they haven’t given me any info about what specific level of grade decline would justify a revoked acceptance.

My grades last semester (if that makes any difference were A, A, A-, B+.) Generally I hover in the all A range with some A-s. Any advice?

One C+ is unlikely to get you rescinded.

Would it make a difference if my overall GPA was already on the cusp prior to admission? I feel as if I am not as strong academically as other admitted applicants as my gpa is closer to a 3.75 average compared to the standard 3.9+…

Did your acceptance letter outline any conditions for admission?

Nothing unique to me. Just the standard disclaimer at the bottom which stated that they reserved the right to rescind their acceptance for a whole range of issues — including a “significant” drop in grade performance. Trying to get a definition of “significant” from them has proved difficult though.

Of course you will have to wait for their final decision, but one C+ doesn’t seem like a significant decline to me.

Thank you for the quick responses! I appreciate it. I imagine this is mostly just my post-acceptance anxiety then.

I’ll work my best to try and bring the grade up anyway to a B- or B even (though that’s unlikely) and hope admissions will understand this as a fluke.

Yes, when colleges say that they may rescind due to grades dropping but do not specify how much of a drop can lead to rescission, that causes a lot of stress for admitted students who do not know if their grades dropped enough to lead to rescission.
