<p>James K. Liao, professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School and director of vascular medicine research at Harvard-affiliated Brigham and Women’s Hospital, has been appointed section chief of cardiology at the University of Chicago Medicine, effective Aug. 21.</p>

<p>Liao, 52, a former member of the vascular center and the vascular medicine clinic at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, is an internationally recognized authority on blood vessel biology and arterial disease.</p>

<p>Good for them.</p>
