<p>OK, so if you’re either bored or going nuts waiting to hear about your decision, you might enjoy some history / trivia I found about the University by going through the Hyde Park Herald’s online searchable archive for the very first time:</p>

<p>1) An article from 1939 talking about the University’s overnight success, despite no one’s knowing whether there would be a single student for the first day of classes:</p>

<p>2) The one and only time (so far as I know) that UChicago ever played Yale in football, when Yale came to town to honor Stagg. UChicago was expected to win but got clobbered:</p>

<p>3) The time 20,000 Princeton alums descended on campus to watch the Chicago / Princeton game.</p>

<p>4) The growth of the University up to 1922:</p>

<p>Lot of football references–more than you would expect for UChicago, but just came across this YouTube vid of one of the oldest films of any college football game, UChicago vs. Michigan 1904</p>

<p>Love the old photos–things sure are a LOT more casual these days!</p>

<p>Found an article in the Daily Princetonian about their game against UChicago. Apparently they held their alumni meeting in Chicago several times and it coincided with a game against UChicago.</p>

<p>Love that! Also, this may not be trivia…but the Admissions Tumblr is posting about the dorms over the coming weeks (photos, descriptions, etc.) and using Harry Potter analogies. It’s a really cool way to get a feel for housing.
