<p>If you actually look at why SB and davis are ranked higher, it’s because of a one point difference. Not really anything to get worked up over. </p>
<p>These three schools have gone back and forth since us news first published the ranking.</p>
<p>as a non biased person looking at colleges and about to apply, they are exactly the same, but i personally think irvine is better because the area.<br>
If i pick ucsb i wont be able to take myself serious and if i go to ucd i would kill myself because its in the middle of nowhere.</p>

<p>I will say I think Irvine has the best area of the mid tiered UCs, at least when it comes to business. It’s in the heart of OC and near enough to LA. SB and D are in the middle of nowhere and UCSD isn’t really finance strong(bio/chem is another story)</p>

<p>According to them, Irvine is ranked #117 after Berkeley and Los Angeles.</p>

<p>I feel like Forbes is more reputable. Maybe the other site is…but whatever. I wish they both would reveal how they did the ranking (unless they did & i’m blind) 'cause right now…they don’t really mean anything haha</p>
<p>Why do you feel forbes more reputable when it ranks Irvine above ucsd and ucsc above uscb? Of course some schools have better programs, but overall that’s out of order, isn’t it? U.S. news seems to be better here</p>
<p>why do people care about these damn rankings anyway? in the end, its all about your personal work experience. its not like everyone going to college is planning to be ceo of some multi-billionaire dollar company where stuff like this would (possibly) matter, and even then, experience is more important than saying you went to harvard. this stuff is just for people to brag about how “good” their school is <em>rolls eyes</em></p>

<p>Im a rising senior strongly considering UCI but the only negative i hear is that it lacks a social enviroment which is kind of a turnoff for me. People say that there is Huntington Beach, Newport Harbor and Corona Del mar but do students really go there often to have a good time? </p>

<p>A bit about myself…I am very type A. Im a football player and a Wrestler (please ignore the stereotypes) who likes to have fun and puts in work in the classrooms as well. and I’m going in as a Biology Major/ Pre-Med.</p>
<p>and also can someone comment on the grading curves at UCI? I have a friend at UC Davis that tells me that all his Pre-med classes had 20-30% A’s with the average being about 25% A’s. Is it easier at UCI?</p>

<p>thats just asinine and i take offense. dont ever think that just because someone goes to a school that isnt highly ranked that he/she doesnt work hard. not everyone here is fortunate to go to a top 5 school, and its not nice saying that they werent good enough.</p>
<p>Zairair: How so? he showed me the final grades for some physics classes and it looks like he has told the truth. I mean i know these are just physics classes but they are still full of premeds so it is not unreasonable to assume similar curves for the intro. biology and chemistry</p>

<p>So it is unreasonable to base ALL or even the average of classes on these two. Unless I can pull up 2 uncurved pre-med courses at UCI with 50% A and call it the average?</p>
