Uci acceptance

waitlisted for econ…dont know it is good or bad… in between maybe?

Waitlisted as well for public health policy. I love how they make us wait this long just to tell us that we have to wait even longer. I just want some closure, but I guess it’s better than a rejection.

anyone STILL waiting even to get into a wait list or…even to just get rejected…???

I mean…i can’t stop thinking…WHY ME!!!
running out of patience here…

I bet they wait-listed all of us so they can have an excuse to take more time to decide. And probably to see who will SIR to other schools and so they can decide from there how many people they should let in. This is totally unfair. They made us wait for so long and now they’re going to make us wait for ANOTHER MONTH.

Does anyone know if accepting the SIP means that we can’t SIR to other schools?
I’m scared to SIR to other schools because if they see they they’ll probably just drop me because they’ll think that I won’t pick their school.
WHAT TO DOOOO

oh, and IS THERE ANYONE THAT GOT ACCEPTED TODAY? I feel like they just wait listed all the people they’re contemplating to accept to buy ONE MORE MONTH.

smart move irvine.

accepted today. going to ucla thoo.

Waitlisted. I just don’t even know what to do right now.

wait

10char

Aw I checked and i got in  film and media gpa 3.7 , got ucla history too but I want UCI because my mom has cancer and I’m staying local. Crazy how things end up happening. I’m very hopeful we will fight it. Everyone hug your mom and be thankful she is with you today and happy mothers day to all . Good luck to those pending

Power to you Julia, I lost my grandfather this morning so I sort of know how you feel.

best of luck to you Julia, stay strong.

does anyone know how exactly the waitlist process works? is it by availability for your major, or the general transfer pool?

Guuuuuuuyyyysssss I am freaking been admitted!!! As a senior!!!
My voice is gone!!!
Major Psychology

Rejected.
3.2 overall
3.8 major (math)
Senior status (I attended a 4 yr school before tfring to CC and changing majors.–Hate that senior status thing.)

So I guess its cal poly pomona for me…

Did any senior status transfers get accepted rather than rejected or waitlisted?

My ****ing god. I waited that long to get rejected! THANKS UCI!!!

Should I even appeal or **** it and go to UCR?

Koko & Julia, stay strong; it’s the best thing to do in these situations.

For me, today I was waitlisted for UCI. This means UCLA is a go.

Halp. I’ve only been at CC for two years.
I got rejected to UCI, UCD and only accepted at UCR.
Do I stay another year?
I have a 3.11 and have like 67 units after summer.
Maybe I shouldn’t be posting here but I’ve only talked to people in this thread… so I don’t want to be torn apart by people outside this thread.

Thanks UCI for wait listing me
However, your application is strong, and as a result we want to provide you the opportunity to be included on a transfer student waitlist for UC Irvine. As a waitlist participant you will be notified by June 15, 2011 of your admission status. At the same time, we caution you to not miss the deadlines at other colleges/universities while waiting to receive our waitlist decision.

@never.
It’s up to you. If you stay another year and go to school full time (30 transferable credits) with straight A’s you will only bring your GPA up to a 3.37. If you get almost all A’s and 6 credits worth of a B, you can bring your GPA up to a 3.31. I forget if you said if you were a senior or if you couldn’t TAG… but it’s up to you whether you would want to try again. Personally, if I were in your situation, I would go to UCR unless you have D’s or F’s on your transcript that you can retake for a better grade and get them lines out. Without TAG for UCI, it’s REALLY hard to get in without a high GPA. Also, if you already have a lot of units, you might be taking worthless classes at your CC. I would recommend staying a 3rd year for people who major in something with a lot of pre-reqs (Engineering, Bio, Chem, whatever else) because they can usually take plenty of additional courses that they would have to take at a UC anyway or for people who might have been rejected with a 3.5 that can bring their GPA up to about a 3.7.

This year, UCR stopped taking Freshman referrals from High Schools and their Freshman acceptance rate dropped from 75% to about 60% in one year. Because their Med School opens next year, they’re trying to make their undergraduate department more exclusive than it has been in the past. Right now, for the first time, it’s statistically more selective than UCSC and UCM. The joint medical program that they had with UCLA’s Geffen Medical School will probably become obsolete in the next few years since their own med school is opening. In that program, UCR only allowed students who had attended UCR full time for two years to apply. I am pretty confident that for their own med school, they will be VERY favorable to students who do their undergrad there which is going to draw a lot more people the school. I know this might not interest you because it’s not really within your major but this is the first med-school opening in SoCal in 40 years! Considering your situation, I would definitely choose to go to UCR if I were you.

thanks kill.
i’m not a senior & i didn’t tag because because before i academically renewed a grade, i didn’t hit 3.0

ahhh. i don’t knowww, for SOME reason i just don’t want to go to UCR. i guess it’s the stigma. :'(

@never, what is your major?
