***, how do you get waitlisted with TAG? TAG=Transfer Admission Guarantee…If they can reject/waitlist TAG certified applicants then what is the point of TAG?
Someone call and find out xd

Dang…I feel pretty blessed that I made into UCI with a 3.4 with no TAG…
I guess this year they are looking at Personal Statements?

I don’t really understand how I didn’t get in considering the TAG (but perhaps I did void it by not completing prereqs).

Whatever! I just declined my spot on the waitlist so I hope that helps someone else out! :)

just wanted to say, you guys are awesome and you were there for me when i had no one else to talk to UC stuff about. congrats to everyone who got into Irvine this year!!! and for those of you who are on waitlist, i hope you get in as well.
i decided that i’m going to UC Riverside (despite the negative stigma!!!) and not staying at cc anymore. i don’t want to risk it trying again next year.
good luck with all your endeavors, everyone.

You should beg your teacher for a B and go to Cal!

Rejected!
Good luck to all those on the waitlist!

@dezziner

Just looked up UCI’s TAG agreement. If you don’t do all the prerequisites, the TAG is void =/ So if anyone got denied with TAG you probably became ineligible for not completing prereqs.

I still haven’t received any updates.

"The following is a brief summary of your application status.
We have received your Advanced Standing (Transfer) application.
You are being considered for the Biological Sciences major.
- Preferred Major: BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES …"

Wow still no update?! If nothing happens tonight you should call them tomorrow asap. Thats ridiculous!!

Does anybody know anything about how the wait list works?

bridget, there’s a bunch of threads recently discussing waitlists.
not to be a downer, but i heard they don’t even budge and you should SIR to your backup school to be safe.
good luck to you though. :)

Hopefully that’s for Freshman only…

is it different for transfers and freshmen?

I would believe so, since they need different numbers. Esp since they’re trying to increase the transfer to freshman ratio.

I was looking at some reports from previous years that showed the numbers of people who applied, were admitted and who enrolled according to each of UCI’s school. Or department … whatever its called. LOL. Fingers crossed, didn’t get into any other UC’s so back up plan … take a communications class, then transfer to a CSU spring semester. Lame.

Just spoke with the guy about the waitlist, asking if there’s a “number” assigned to the students and how it worked and the “likelyhood” they would be accepting the waitlisted students. What he said was , well it’s out of a general pool of waitlisted students, and he said atm we’re slightly over enrollment so we’re not to sure if there’s going to be alot accepted off the waitlist. So that being said, i feel like it’s a slim chance.

Also spoke with a girl about the waitlist…said they put about a thousand people on it, pretty sure they aren’t going to take a thousand people.

Hmm, I dont know what to make of the situation atm. I feel like we might have a good chance of getting in if alot of people go elsewhere so i don’t really know. Only time will tell i guess.

ur lame and not supergood

Anyone asked why getting rejected even with tag!?
I can’t reach the administration cus they were way too busy still…

@xion I called admissions (and waited on hold for ~20 minutes) and asked to talk to my admissions counselor regarding my admission decision. My counselor said that TAG applicants that are denied admission are usually missing prerequisites. If that’s what happened in your case, they’ll be able to tell you exactly what class it is you’re missing.

In my case, they thought I was missing a pre-req, but I wasn’t (the course name changed the year after I took the class, so they missed it). After confirming this, she said that they indeed made a mistake, made a note in my file, and asked that I file an appeal that stated what happened and included my official transcript. She said that since they made a mistake, my appeal should work.
