Do tell, melanie.
Now you’re getting ME worried!!

I might be headed to UCR if I get rejected from UCI because my Cal provisions say I need to get a B in a class that I totally have a C in
I wish I had more options… come on UCI!

From an education standpoint, UCR is much much better. They are top 100 in the nation and are a UC which means they get tons of money in research grants.

A csu simply cannot compete with even the bottom UCs when it comes to research. That is whole reason they are seperate.

There’s nothing wrong with UCR. It’s a good school. But I grew up in riverside, and it’s just a pretty dull town. It’s hot most of the time, stuff closes early, and if you don’t have a car you’re kind of screwed.

Damn, sounds depressing.

And hey, Irvine isn’t that different. But I like it because it’s closer to everything (beach, LA) and because there’s usually something within a reasonable walking distance.

I live 10 minutes from Irvine, everything is much more close. Riverside, on the other hand, an hour away …

How far is LA from Irvine? Does it have a nice urban feel to it like SF?

I would say no…LA is nothing like SF

Stateofmind, i made the commute from riverside to fullerton for a few months and it wasn’t so bad. The nice thing in your case is you’d probably be making the opposite commute of everyone else (everyone heads west to LA in the morning and east to riverside in the evening). The traffic wouldn’t necessarily be horrendous for you.

LA is about 1 hour away from Irvine:)

I live in SF now, and yeah- totally different.

Ahhh I guess it wouldn’t be super bad … Melanie dear, what school are you attending?

SF seems like it’s always gloomy, nice place to live if you like to wear layers lol. LA, of course, always has perfect weather for the beach!

I live about 15 minutes away from Irvine, so if I got accepted, it would be really convenient for both me and my mom. I’d still live on campus, though.

Now? CCSF, the san Franciscan community college. Best cc ever, BTW. Next year, I’m still optimistic about UCI but otherwise either SFSU or cal state fullerton.

Ahh gotcha!

F5. F5. F5. F5.

not a big fan of SF but its still infinitely better than anywhere in Riverside county

I’ve lived in the bay area my whooole life and I want a change of scenery.
I think it’s that whole “I’d rather be anywhere but where I’ve been my whole life” thing for me. :)
