<p>Those that are speculating need to stop. There’s no point in trying to rationalize the process based on two years ago because their application process completely changed in 2011. UCI decisions will likely be released in very late March to early April, because unlike some of the other UCs that release their decisions early to mid March, UCI actually recently moved to a holistic review process which requires a much more extensive evaluation. If you think rationally, it’s not hard to see that those campuses that use a holistic review process have always released their decisions in April, because it requires more time to evaluate personal statements, ECs, etc. UCI will be no different, with decisions coming in the last week of March at the earliest. Last year the first decisions came out on March 29th. So if you’re one of the sheep that follow the nonsensical hype about decisions being released tomorrow, please re-evaluate what’s actually likely to happen. Those with the slightest bit of sense will realize this and not buy into all the unsubstantiated, mindless hype that others on this forum are posting.</p>

<p>^^There were less transfer applicants, but significantly more freshman applicants, which had a percentage increase much larger than the decrease in transfer applicants. Assuming you’re going by volume, there’s actually an increase in the number of overall applications they have to go over in total of about 13.2% systemwide. Meaning if we use your “logic”, by making a complete assumption that the volume of applications always correlates with the decision dates (which past dates has shown us isn’t really true) then the dates would actually be pushed back farther for transfer students because of the 19.1% increase in freshman applications. Freshman applications are always completed before the transfer applications so that would equate to a 19.1% increase in time for freshman decisions, effecxqtively sliding the window for transfers backward NOT forward. So even though while there was a slight 5.7% decrease in the amount of transfers systemwide (which really shouldn’t be assumed to each school), that may or may not correlate to a fairly short movement of dates forward, it’s completely neutralized and pushed back by the freshman group.</p>
<p>Sorry to be the voice of reason here, clearly I must be saying something right if all anyone can comment about are frivolous ad hominems and nothing to do with the validity or reasoning in my argument. I guess those that could only say something like “you’re bitter”, were probably those that fell into that group that easily bought into the fact that the decisions dates were going to increase despite common sense clearly pointing the other direction. Regardless, I hope if anyone was unsure about whether to get their hopes up for decisions to come out this week that they now have two ways off looking at the process and can make an informed decision as to whether or not to believe the random hype.</p>

I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with speculating. You’d just think if it’s so important to spend all your time trying to decrypt the “code” of when the transfer decision dates are going to be, you’d want to do so using some sound logic wouldn’t you? Making assumption after assumption after assumption and ignoring what’s truly logical to predict a date somewhere this week isn’t the type of valid speculation you’d want. Just putting some food for thought out there to those that aren’t sure what to believe.</p>

<p>Lol, personally I don’t really find anything wrong with this post…though I believe I have disagreed with some of Bruins posts before, this one not so much. I actually find it helpful to get an accurate timeline, instead of speculation. I have read before on their fb page that they won’t be sending out decisions until April and have posted that before on a thread here, but I don’t think anyone really payed attention and just continued a countdown to a nonexistent release date. For now, I’ll just focus on the schools that I know will be released this month :)</p>
