@Megg1997 We took our twins to SDSU for their open house this past weekend and they loved it. Both got in to SDSU and UCR. Wait listed at UCSD and UCSB. One got into UCI and other well here we are waiting… I’m pretty sure they will both end up attending UCSD at this point.

my preferred major is criminology and I still have yet to hear back ): a boy at my school has almost perfect SAT score and above a 4.0 GPA and he was waitlisted.

What’s the process of staying on the waitlist like? Like important dates? Is it worth it?
I will probably choose between UCSD and UCSB. But, UCI is the closest to home
Rejected for history. Definitely a reach school for me but I was still holding out some hope.
UCI wasn’t my first choice school but I feel like how they decided to release decisions made the reaction to the eventual decision all the more painful than it would have been if they had just released all decisions at once. I really hope that they end up changing their method of releasing decisions because this past week has been mentally agonizing.
Son rejected this morning, Business Administration
1500 SAT (800 M, 700 R), 4.2 GPA, Varsity Team Captain, Eagle Scout, lots of APs.
Pretty frustrated at the process right now, the UCs need to be more transparent about their criteria. Running for cover under a “holistic” definition isn’t helping anyone and may be covering up a biased admissions process.
It’s a painful experience to go thru the rolling admission. However UCI rolling admission only last for a few days since Friday until someone starts getting rejection. My son finally get a rejection from Cal Poly SLO after a month (starting when acceptance started to get out at SLO). Luckily, he got in UCI on the night (last Friday) on the same day.

my takeaway: a story of hardship is worth more than working ur tail off in CA UCs (all except for SLO).
