Anyone have a rough idea of what gpa you would need to transfer under this major? If you are aware of the gpa required for UCI’s business administration major as well I would appreciate that as well. Thanks

Anyone have any ideas?

if you look at the website, for that major they’ll take around 15 people literally thats what the website says

That is for the business administration major.

Business Information Management is actually a interdisciplinary program offered between the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences and The Paul Merage School of Business.

On the UCI catalogue is says ([Interdisciplinary Studies](<a href=“UCI General Catalogue Archives ”>UCI General Catalogue Archives ))

Transfer Applicants: Junior-level applicants who satisfactorily complete the following requirements will be given preference for admission:

One year of discrete mathematics if available; if not, first year-calculus.

Completion of one year of UC-transferable computer science courses, including at least one course involving the concepts of object-oriented programming (e.g., in Java) or functional programming (e.g., in Scheme). Additional courses beyond the two courses required for admission are strongly recommended, particularly courses that focus on topics such as data structures, algorithms software design, software engineering, human-computer interaction, and programming language concepts, if such courses are available. It is strongly recommended that transfer students enter UCI with knowledge of Java since it is used in many of the required courses.

Completion of courses equivalent to Economics 20A-B and Management 30A, 30B.

Students who transfer to UCI in need of completing any part of this sequence may find that it will take longer than two years to complete their degree.

If you want to get in this program it is also apart of the TAG program
([UC Irvine Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) Fall 2009](<a href=“http://www.admissions.uci.edu/admissions_info/transfer_admission/tag.html]UC ”>http://www.admissions.uci.edu/admissions_info/transfer_admission/tag.html ))
Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences
All majors except Computer Science and Engineering

* Have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in required courses
Complete one year of calculus or one year of discrete mathematics*
*NOTE: Informatics majors are encouraged to take Boolean algebra, statistics, or symbolic logic, if available, to facilitate course planning after transfer.
Complete one year of transferable computer science courses involving object-oriented programming

In addition, Business Information Management majors must:

* Complete one year of introductory accounting theory and practice

I am planning on attending law school but I would like a major that I can fallback on if needed. Do you guys think that a business economics degree would be more suitable for this? Oh, and I understand the concept of doing a major that you are interested in as it will make you preform better.
