I have a quick question on my uci portal it says i was accepted yet in my email account I only see the email for a admission status update.It has now been a entire day since they sent that email.my friend who also got that email got the acceptance email right after.I however have not gotten the acceptance email but my portal does say i have been accepted.Additionally many of my other schoolfriends also have been accepted with not rejections 10+ is this normail and if so does this mean it’s a repeat of what happened with ucr admissions a couple years back where there were false admissions.It would help alot if someone could answer fully if i’m in or not as i’m very nervous that there was a portal mistake since i haven’t gotten a acceptance email.Just the admission update email.

I’m pretty sure you’re in, congratulations! Usually only acceptances come out, the wait list and acceptances come later.

@Dandaivin I received my acceptance email from UCSD 3 days after I saw my acceptance on the portal… so let’s be hopeful you are in 
Your portal should be correct. Don’t worry about email if it doesn’t come right now, it will soon. Yes all the acceptances are normal because they didn’t accept all. They do this stuff in waves and more acceptances will come out soon, and then wait-lists and rejections
i’ve been checking my portal every second since thursday and the wait is KILLING ME!! does anyone know if they released decisions for business admin? or has anyone gotten rejected? UCI is my top choice and i’m scared to even be waitlisted.

Lol I got into both (surprisingly) but I was using the SD email as an example of getting my acceptance email late after I got my acceptance on the portal
what major did u get accepted into ?
@bgrande99 if you go back to really early in this thread, you’ll see that a lot of business admins got in on the first day which implies it comes out in waves by major…disheartening i know…I’m in the same boat as you sigh
@charlie122 i’m screwed then… my second choice was undeclared and at this point i don’t even think i’ll get in. which sucks cuz i know a bunch of other ppl with lower scores and gpa who got in the first day but a they all were doing psychology majors.
Only a few got in with business. I also saw some CS majors. The waves aren’t by major (if it was, the other waves would also be by major (and they aren’t)), so we just need to wait.
I wish everything got released at once. They’re playing with my emotions right now

The admission process is totally random.
It’s so disheartening to check my portal and see no change over and over again while others in my major are being accepted. Irvine needs to change their decision process. This is just cruel.
