@shoogu @asianjock although cc tranfers do get first priority my friend who went to UCI and transferred to UCLA said the process wasn’t difficult at all it took her 10 minutes to apply and she immediately got it

@bearyxx she might have exaggerated on the immediate decision to emphasize her point. transferring from uc to uc was really easy for her
@ImJustaPerson Thank you for that. I actually had a long talk with my family a few hours ago and they gave me the same support. I will turn this into something positive rather than let it bring me down. Maybe CC was just meant to be for me. I will have bigger things in the future. This goes for anyone else facing the same situation. There are plenty of examples of smart, successful, and happy students who chose to attend CC and now have a great life. College is what you make out of it. You can go to Berkeley but if you don’t continue to work hard then it will all go to waste. I hope everyone stays positive

@idontlikegolf As far as the transferring process goes, it would be the same as any other CC transfer student. Apply fall and get accepted somewhere towards the end of April (transfer decisions). I’d presume your friend had a really high GPA? For those who want to go down this path, it’s possible. You’re going to have to work really hard, but it’ll be worth it. Seeing some peoples stats, you guys are capable of transferring to your desired school if you choose to go down this path. I’m shocked of the lack of acceptances this year.

@idontlikegolf If the goal is transfer then CC has huge benefits
- Guaranteed transfer through TAG
- Can still apply and be considered to all other universities with better chance of acceptance
- Cheaper
- You don’t get stuck at a UC you didn’t want in the first place for four years in case you can’t transfer.

I just got waitlisted for Film and Media studies tonight but I wanted to share my stats because I totally understand how frustrating this entire thing is. (UCs this year imo were being incredibly confusing with who they accepted/rejected/waitlisted)
SAT [New] - 1160 (high school’s average is around 900)
GPA - 4.12 weighted
Act - 26 (high school’s average is 19)
8 AP Courses (4 from senior year)
2 college courses
Decent ECs (5 leadership positions in volunteer club w/ approx 200 hours, yearbook head editor, 2 ASB positions, job, very involved with my SLC)
Rushed personal statements but (3/4 were pretty solid)
Accepted: CSUF, CSULB, CPP, SJSU, UCSD
Waitlisted: UCI, UCD
Rejected: UCLA (lol)
A lot of people from my school got in the first day decisions were out but I got my decision today while many others are still waiting. Good luck to everyone still waiting and I really wish you all the best 
@asianjock That is good thinking. That is a great thing your parents support you. An Asian family too, (Im chinese ahah). I wouldnt mind going to a CC, as long as my parents are happy, I’m happy. You can still go to CC and be successful, I mean, who said you couldn’t right? Employers wont look down on you. And besides, undergradate prestige is worthless if you plan on going to a much better graduate school.
@mvtttc Sorry to hear that. I don’t plan on putting my name on the wait list. Actually thought UCI was gonna be a safety but guess not, I’m not gonna petition to go there.
My admission counselor at uci explained the rolling decision process: “Once a decision is made on the application we notify students through this web portal. Not all applications are decided on at one time so that is why we have rolling admissions throughout the
month of March.”
wait if youre waitlisted and accepted later, will your major be undeclared?
I haven’t heard back yet. At this point, I’ve accepted the fact that I got rejected. UCI was my top choice, but I guess I’m not good enough.

I moved to the U.S. halfway through my Sophomore year. I didn’t know what an AP class or the ACT was until a few months in my Junior year. Mediocre EC’s and essays were pretty unique according to my English teacher and counselor. English is also my second language.
Accepted: CSUS, CSUC
Rejected: Cal Poly SLO, UCD, UCSD, UCSC, UCSB, UCLA
Waiting: CPP, UCI, UCR, UCB ( Seen a few acceptances already, probably rejected from all of them. )
