@rose528 i applied for international studies as well. got waitlisted today
@uciparent quick question earlier you talked about how the only way to get a rolling admission acceptance up until the 31st was too not get denied tomorrow. Does that mean that after tomorrow the odds of getting increase once again?
@uciparent are you certain that if we don’t find out today, then we aren’t getting in. I’ve read almost every page and I didn’t see any acceptances to school of social ecology so…?
@asianjock i wouldn’t recommend going to a cc if you are sure of what you want to do. i would recommend to go to a low UC first then transfer.
I was waitlisted but I’m not sure if I should sign up for the waitlist? (Was accepted into UCD, UCSC, UW, UCSB, waitlisted for UCSD)
UC GPA: 4.08
Major: Econ
AP/Honors Courses: 9
ACT: 33
Decent EC
In- state
Thoughts??
@aabattery05 @BhadBhabie What I mean is this:
Acceptances - rolled out last week
Waitlist - came out today
Rejections - I expect will come out tomorrow
So if you don’t hear anything tomorrow and rejections come out, then they may still be looking at you for the “unknown” number of acceptances that may still be there. I suspect the vast majority of those who have yet to get a decision will get one tomorrow.
@idontlikegolf it is way way way way way harder to transfer from UC to UC. TAG is guaranteed as long as you meet the requirements.
@idontlikegolf I was really considering that until I found out that it is much more difficult to transfer from UC to UC rather than from CC to UC. To be completely honest, I just can’t see myself at one of the lower tier UC’s for more than two years . I’m also considering taking a gap year and reapplying as a freshman although I’m not completely sure if that is possible
Oh my gosh now I’m expecting to get rejected tomorrow. Thanks for letting us know though so we’ll be prepared.
My d was waitlisted school social ecology- we opted in but according to ask Ms. Sun website Irvine numbers coming off the waitlist from 2015 were about 50 percent of opt ins. She has no numbers for 2016 but with the wildly increased apps- who knows
in state 4.05/1400 new 6 UC approved Honors AP through senior year. Rejected UCSB- different major
UCI 2015 2,044 offers waitlist
1,220 opt
-ins
514 admits
@uciparent @idontlikegolf
Hey guys, I just came across this thread. I’m a prospective CCC transfer student going who’s most likely going to UCI this fall unless I get accepted to UCLA. If you’re already sure of what you’re going to do, I wouldn’t recommend going CC. If you want to do UC to UC transfer, it is possible, although I know it’s extremely difficult. I know a couple of people from my high school who originally went to UCR but transferred to UCLA.
ACCEPTED LAST FRIDAY
3.95 W
1700 SAT
Asian
Civil engineering
Solid Essays & Volunteering.
hmu for questions
whats your stats look like
Still waiting…CS.
May I remind everyone that stats are meaningless without major? Each major has its own criteria for acceptance.
Good luck, all! And hoping those with multiple acceptances will go with one and open up spots for those waitlisted.
@asianjock I am truly sorry to hear that. College admissions is LITERALLY like gambling. My friend with a 3.6 got denied from low to mid tiers, but got into UCI. You really deserve this school. Listen, since you have a really high GPA, I take it you’re really bright and have an amazing work ethic. Bring that over to CC, and TAG into a UC school (besides the top 3). Theres absolutely nothing wrong with going to a CC. You know who you are. A smart individual. These schools do not. Remember, stuff like this will happen to you all your life. You either cry and do nothing, or smile and change it.
anyone know if uci’s rolling process is similar to riversides? cuz I got my riverside acceptance like a solid week after it supposedly started rolling
I have a great plan of revenge against UCI…my son will not accept the waitlist until the last day so admission will keep on refreshing to see if my son opted in…lolz…
Just kidding, ofcourse…
@asianjock yes it is possible to take a gap year and apply as a freshman! I have friends that are twins and took a gap year, retook the SAT, and applied to universities as a freshman this year. Idk if they applied to UC schools tho
Waitlisted for Business Administration
Weighted GPA: 3.9
ACT: 30
EC: Tennis all four years, ASB 1 year, start new club, volunteer hours, worked two different jobs
Accepted Cal Poly, UCSC, SDSU, U of O
Rejected: Davis, Santa Barbara, LA
I really want to attend UCI so do I have to submit SIR to both Cal Poly and UCI and hope I get off the waitlist, losing money whether I get in or not? Or how would that work
Cal poly is a good school…you will like it there…
