***UCI Class of 2021 Applicants***

waitlisted! instate for sociology

What a bummer. Oh well, most likely gonna be waitlisted for bio

I applied to Global Cultures. Has anyone gotten accepted yet for that?

The heartbreaking conclusion of today is: The only chance of rolling acceptace by March 31 for anyone who hasn’t heard yet is if the applicant doesn’t get rejected tomorrow. I wish you all the best.

waitlisted uw gpa 3.76 sat 1300 major in chemistry/biochemistry
accepted to csulb
waitlisted at sdsu ucd ucsc
denied at ucsb ucsd
do you guys think I should go to csulb? i know uci is a better school for science but I’m pretty mad about this rolling admission and i hate to wait until like may/june

@uciparent what do you mean?

I still have not received anything from uci yet.
My stats are-
UC GPA- 4.2
SAT-1510
SAT subject test- Math 2 790 and BioM 790
Have pretty good essays and ECs

Accepted- UCSD, UCSB, UCD

I think everyone who has not got a reply back from UCI still has a fair chance of getting in. (Just my personal opinion)

Did you just check right now?

all my friends are either being accepted or waitlisted by uci… and none of them wanna go there… uci why u gotta do me like this

@uciparent I appreciate you and people like gumbymom who have been helping applicants by giving us as much info on the admission process that you can, god bless

I’ve never felt so cheated in my life. Rejected from all the UC’s with the exception of riverside and Merced and waitlisted at Santa Cruz. Looks like all the hard work I’ve put in over the past few years will take me to CC while many less qualified applicants at my school are headed to good schools. GPA:4.25 SAT:1430 New APs:9(all 5s or 4s). I’m truly shocked and I don’t understand

i think ucs are accepting more and more international or oos students or athletes idk i saw many in state people with amazing stats getting rejected but many oos students with average stats got accepted… (I’m in state)

@asianjock that’s honestly crazy, you have really good stats but same I only got accepted into santa cruz but I think I’d rather go to community :frowning: I’m honestly very upset

Guys, it’s not the end of the world. We can prove ourselves at cc. Who else is going to cc like me? What cc are you going to? I’m going to OCC.

@asianjock I completely sympathize with your feelings. I feel that it is tragic that so many of you aren’t getting rewarded for your hard work and sacrifices that it makes me want to open a university and take all of you in. It really sucks. I wish it was different for you, I really do. That being said, this does not define you guys. You are all wonderful.

Got waitlisted… how hard is it to get off the waitlist?

Still waiting… applied under business Econ. Alternative was public health policy.

UC gpa: 4.0
Actual gpa: 4.27W, 3.8UW
SAT: 1260

President of Hermanos Unidos, volunteered at boys and girls club for 3 years, own my own business/food company through blogging/sponsorships. 100+ hours of community service.
Essays: to be honest I thought they were pretty good. Explained why I did bad my freshman year, talked about the business I created, talked about working at boys and girls club.

Accepted: UCSD, UCD, Cal Poly SLO
Waiting on Berkeley. I’m assuming Irvine waitlisted/rejected me. Might be because business is so impacted.

On the bright side guys, there a some great benefits of going to CC.

  1. you save your parents a lot of money
  2. you have some extra time to really figure out what you want to do if you haven’t already
  3. you have more time to prepare yourself for the real college experience
  4. you’re a big fish living in a small pond

Looking at this from a positive standpoint is always better than looking at it from a negative one. Have a chip on your shoulder going into CC and it will pay off. You all might as well aim for Stanford or Harvard now. If you ever feel bad, just look at my situation haha…Best of luck to everybody

TUFTS SYNDROME IS REAL!!!

@uciparent Thank you for the kind words
