UCI Fall 2015 Transfer Thread

@6aturn I wrote an appeal but I am still waiting. Congrats on your acceptance!

Just declined my offer of admission to UCI Engineering. Hope it helps those on the wait list! Good Luck!

Im droping from UCR for financial reasons and I really didn’t like the school. Im going to start at a community college next semester. Since I will be a semester behind is it still possible for me to transfer within the two years even with summer school? and do you guys have any advice or tips to getting the best grades in order to transfer to UCI. I am currently a business major and I hear it’s nearly impossible to get into UCI’s business program. What type of GPA should I have?

For a CC transfer earning an AAT I would aim for at least a 3.4, but if you fall below still apply.

@newton66 Hey man. I’ll be taking data structures in java next semester and I was curious of what advice you have for me? I’ve only taken CS classes in C++/Python. We will be using the Algorithms 4th Edition book btw used in the online Princeton course.

What was your Gpa? I know this is late haha but i have a 3.3 and maybe a 3.4 but im also a Criminology major and want to know if its competitive and impacted? Its my dream school

@hrwarg What was your Gpa? I know this is late haha but my gpa is a 3.3 or 3.4 if i work hard enough by the end of the semester? If i cant TAG will i still have a good chance? I just want to know if Criminology is an impacted major? This is my dream school! haha

@jaypanahon I just got accepted into UCI with a gpa of 3.3 with political science as my major! I had a few good ECs one for a year at a top law firm I also worked full time and from the people who read my personal statement said it was pretty intense. so its possible just work hard on your personal statement explain any hardships or problems that happened and resulted in the grade drop. and make sure you have a very strong upwards grade tend after the drop. but it is possible GPA isn’t always everything! go for it! I don’t know if the major is impacted though
