I have a class that is a prerequisite for my informatics major at UCI. I have already been accepted but I’m worried I will fail this class.

I’m wondering if it would be better to get a W or ride out the rest of the semester and see what happens (although it doesn’t look good). If my cc offers this course during the summer, would UCI still accept that or do I need to have all of my prereqs completed by the end of Spring? Thanks!

for uci u can do it over the summer

Sir, I hope to God that you’re right.

The funny thing is that only UCI and the lower UC’s allow you to do this. UCSB UCD UCSD does not.

Oh really? That’s so strange. How do you know this?

its on the uc transfer websites under deadlines or something like that; every other school needs you to finish it by spring.

Oh, wow, that’s very relieving. Thank you so much! Would you know if this could potentially break my TAG?

Hmm, this site says it all needs to be done by Spring. Am I looking at the wrong page? Maybe they changed it?

Hmm, interesting and hopeful. UCIs website was updated more recently, but hopefully just due to the discord between the two I’ll end up benefiting. Thank you so much!

which class is it? im also an informatics major

It’s the C++ intro class, my CC calls it CSCI 123.

oh okay…did they tell you that you can take it in the summer?

@ saad.ahmad: I have not officially dropped the class nor have I had any correspondence with UCI or my CC about this matter, but it looks like one would be able to take this course over the summer, or possibly even just take it at UCI (but I wouldn’t push my luck that far). Now I’m just trying to find out when/where I would be able to take this class over the summer.

@cooldude6 Thanks! Hopefully they don’t change anything between now and when I need to start reporting final grades
