most of my friends who have transferred have said that UCI gave them the most money

I got only 15k from UCSB. but 21k from UCI :)

most of my friends who have transferred have said that UCI gave them the most money

I got only 15k from UCSB. but 21k from UCI :)

I haven’t even heard from them yet…!!!

I feel so left out! Everyone’s talking about financial aid and the campus and stuff while I haven’t even heard back D:!

@ UCBoundVet

You take the VanPool to UCLA! I just may be saying Zot Zot myself, I have even mastered the hand gesture.

Can’t there be a separate thread for people who have already been admitted? I don’t feel right talking about the awesomeness of uci while some people that were once waiting anxiously with me haven’t heard back yet. I’m not great at this site otherwise I’d attempt to make one. No offense to anyone; I’m just thinking about how I’d feel.

@ UCdrone While I applaud the idea of a van pool and any effort to assist students, I am not much of a van pool type. haha Plus, I wouldnt want to be stuck on campus without a vehicle if something happened and I needed to pick up my son from the sitter (my mom lol).

@fkhan0 It does not matter where or what you post. For people waiting and posting on this site the anxiety will not be curved by anything besides logging into their UCI portal and seeing an acceptance. If you started a separate thread with UCI in the title, the same folks following this thread would click on it and read the posts just the same.

Are you guys familiar with work study? My offer is for $1500 $8 with an avg of 6.25 hrs a week. But on UCI’s site it said $9 an hour. I’m curious if this is truly of any value. I mean this is for one academic year right? Financially, it seems like I could do better than $500 a quarter. But I wonder if opportunities on campus are more substantial through work study.

@ UCBoundVet

If I got into UCLA, I’d be tempted to invite you to carpool. I’m also in Orange County, it’s funny how easy it is to dream. The one thing about the VanPool is the hours, it leaves campus far too early for my liking.

My choice used to be between UCLA (if I even get accepted) and UCSB but after researching the school and cost of living, UCI is growing on me.

^ Housing is even cheaper at UCSD.

Housing in UCSB is outrageous! I did not apply to UCSD but I did apply to SDSU but was not accepted Ive been accepted to 3 UC’s but rejected by them. I know a lot of people did apply.

Also I will be 32 when I transfer. UCSB is just too much party for me.

@SoCal79 most of my friends who work at UCI said they all got $9 starting!

mannnnn i haven’t even heard from them yet. although I don’t think I will until atleast a week from today. Whats the appeal deadline? I think actually completing my IGETC an AA and my gpa going up by .3 (3.31 to 3.6) is a pretty significant change. especially when the only two full semesters as a student not in high school are straight 4.0’s.

I haven’t heard either. Hoping for this Wednesday, and hoping even more for some nice financial aid, since it looks like UCI is generous SDSU only gave me loans… still waiting on UCSD and UCI.
I wish I had known about the open house event. I’ve never been to UCI, it would have been nice to go see the campus even if I get rejected in the end… Well, we will all know within the next 8 days. The wait is almost over…

@ SoCal79: I’m sure you can find something that pays better than $9 an hour on campus. When my friend was going to UCI he had an on-campus job that paid like $11, for cleaning beakers. It’s still not going to be much money but hey, you can’t beat the convenience of working on campus. My brother was working as an office clerk at the Anderson school and they were paying him 14 an hour. Just look around, should be something better.

Lol I wish I could join in on the financial aid talk haha. SOOON.

@clamfest me too According to last year’s thread, if trends are the same, decisions will be released today, tomorrow, and the day after.

@fuzzyducky22 Oh yeah? That’s good. Hopefully that’s the rest of the decisions and no more come out so we know for sure this week. I mean, for crying out loud somebody said they knew somebody accepted in May!!! -_- get your shizz together, UCI!!!

@clamfest me too! I just want to know if I’m accepted or not. I want to join the conversation on financial aid. This wait is stupid.
