UCI Transfer 2013 Decisions

fuzzyduck22: When you looked at last years trends, were people still getting accepted this late or were they mostly all rejections? I’m getting worried they are saving all of the rejections for last like most state schools do.

I chatted with the admission office representative two weeks ago, and she said that they have not even got to every application yet and might extend the deadline to the first week of May.

@jaz777 …for reals…? That’s so dumb. How do they not get this done earlier or on time -_- Come on now. Sigh.

I would be pretty mad if i had to wait an additional week to know i got rejected but if it also pushed the appeal deadline back a week then it wouldnt be as bad because ill finish my classes by then and i can appeal and tell them i got my AA in psych (my alternate major PSB) IGETC and my gpa went up by .3 which is huge.

Maybe Irvine isn’t the place to go. Apparently stuff just doesn’t get done.

@clamfest yeah for real! The wait is literally killing me. And she said you will get an e-mail saying that " your status has been changed." It’s soooooooooooo not fair that some people get their letters first week of April or even Mid March and some people like us have to wait this long. Last year one of friends got her admission letter from UCSD at August. Guys I say let’s all not check our portals till Wed or Fri.

@Jaz no way! August?! That is craaaaazy. But you’re right. I wish there was a way we could raise hell at them for taking so long. How can transfers be hearing mid March, and we’re supposed to wait until possibly May because we weren’t scholarship people? UGH. Don’t they know some people are trying to make a decision on where to go? I mean, I’m not, but others are. They’re waiting on UCI to figure out what they’re doing. UCI is the only school I applied to this year (luckily with TAG) and go figure I’m gonna be in the last batch lol. I stopped with the portal business. I’m just waiting for that dang e-mail. I know the email comes later, but it’s not that much later anyway. :P

@clamfest
Atleast you got to tag hahaha

@ricky I just keep worrying that SOMEHOW it’s gonna fall through, like the way it did for a lot of people at UCSD last year :stuck_out_tongue: But at least it’s good news that they’re still working on them so it doesn’t mean that they’re just gonna release rejections for the rest of the month.

meh i did everything in a year so it sucks i couldn’t tag IVC wants me to go to their graduation but I don’t think I will go cause i mean its CC

@ Caliduder: Last year there were a lot of people who were waitlisted, including myself. So yes, a lot of people were still getting decisions(or rejections) much later than the end of April. They required you to SIR to another campus in the meantime, while they decided whether to accept or reject you. I don’t remember when the SIR deadline was but they required to submit a SIR by the SIR deadline as a safety, so that should kind of give you an extended timeline.

@caliduder I saw a looot of acceptances on the 23-24 and 27 in last years thread! So hopefully that’s a good sign!

I decided there was no reason to wait any longer. UCI is the right fit for me and SIR’d today see you guys in the fall.

Lol unbounded you da man. I know it’s hard to say no to UCI after all that it offers.

@ Waterox haha It just felt right. I went to the campus today for about 3 hours to get things in order to start for summer school and the comfort level was there. I think that is more valuable then the “name brand” of a school.

My stupid auto correct missed spelled your name but congrats!

Is it true that community college transfer usually spend 3 years at UC to obtain a Bachelor degree?

@ Waterox IF you listen to the counselors and follow the ed plan yes it will probably take you a bit longer. I personally know what I am capable of handling more than some counselor that does not know me. I completed CC in one year and intend on being done at the UC within 2.

@ Waterox That’s definitely not true. When I transferred to UCD, I graduated within 2 years, not 3.

Im transferring from a CC and it looks like it will take me a year and half to graduate from the UC.
